AJ Treksphere - Trekking & Hiking Instructions and Rules
1. Pre-Trek Preparation:
Booking & Confirmation: Ensure your trek booking is confirmed at least a week in advance. Check for any additional paperwork or waivers required for the trek.
Physical Fitness: All participants should ensure they are physically fit and capable of undertaking the level of difficulty specified for the trek. We recommend basic cardiovascular exercises and strength training for at least 2 weeks before the trek.
Travel Insurance: Trekking involves inherent risks. All trekkers are strongly advised to have valid travel insurance that covers trekking activities, including evacuation and medical coverage.
Health Check: If you have any pre-existing medical conditions (e.g., asthma, heart disease), consult your doctor before embarking on the trek. Please inform the Trek Leader about any health issues at the time of registration.
Packing List: Ensure you pack only the necessary items. A suggested packing list includes:
- Comfortable trekking shoes
- Waterproof jacket and pants
- Warm clothes (layers)
- Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
- Water bottle (at least 2 liters capacity)
- Trekking poles (if required)
- Personal first-aid kit
- Snacks (energy bars, dried fruits)
- A light daypack
- Identification documents and permits (if applicable)
2. During the Trek:
Follow the Guide’s Instructions: Always listen to the trek leader’s instructions regarding pace, breaks, and safety measures. The leader’s primary concern is your safety, and sticking to the schedule is essential for group cohesion.
Group Cohesion: Stay within the group and avoid wandering off alone. The trek leader will guide you, and it’s crucial to keep the team together.
Respect Nature: Leave no trace of your presence. Do not litter, and pack out all trash, including food wrappers, plastic bottles, etc. Stick to established trails and avoid disturbing wildlife or plants.
Safety First: The trek leader may decide to shorten or alter the itinerary if weather conditions or safety concerns make it necessary. Always prioritize your well-being over reaching the destination.
Pace Yourself: Each trekker should maintain their own pace and not push beyond their limits. Take regular breaks, especially on steep sections, to hydrate and rest.
Altitude Awareness: If trekking at high altitudes (above 2,500m), keep an eye out for symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Common symptoms include headaches, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, and loss of appetite. If symptoms occur, inform the guide immediately.
Hydration & Nutrition: Drink water regularly (aim for 2-3 liters per day) and consume nutritious snacks to maintain energy levels. Avoid alcohol, as it can lead to dehydration.
Emergency Procedures: In case of injury or emergency, the trek leader will follow the established evacuation protocols, including contacting local authorities or organizing evacuation via helicopter or ground transport, if necessary.
Wildlife & Local Communities: Be respectful to local communities and wildlife. Do not engage with animals or pick plants. Respect the local culture and traditions.
3. Trekking Etiquette & Behavior:
Noise Control: Keep noise to a minimum. Loud talking or music can disturb other trekkers, wildlife, and local communities.
Respect Local Traditions: If trekking through indigenous or rural areas, be mindful of local customs. Ask for permission before taking photographs, particularly of people or sacred places.
Sharing the Trail: Yield to faster trekkers, and when descending, allow those ascending to pass first.
Teamwork: Be supportive of fellow trekkers. If someone is struggling or feeling unwell, offer assistance. Maintain a positive attitude and encourage others.
Don’t Rush: Enjoy the journey rather than rushing to the destination. Take time to appreciate the views, natural beauty, and the unique experiences along the way.
4. Post-Trek:
Feedback: After the trek, you will be encouraged to provide feedback about your experience with AJ Treksphere. Your suggestions will help us improve the quality of our treks.
Sharing Photos and Memories: Feel free to share your trekking memories through social media, using the designated hashtags provided by the company. Ensure any photos of local people are shared with their consent.
Certificate of Completion: If applicable, AJ Treksphere may provide a certificate of completion for your trek. This is a great memento of your achievement.
5. Specific Guidelines for Different Trek Types:
Short Treks (1-3 Days):
- These are generally easier and may be suitable for beginners. Still, it’s important to stay hydrated, pace yourself, and rest when necessary.
Medium-Length Treks (4-7 Days):
- These treks may involve higher altitudes and more challenging terrain. Be prepared for a mix of physical exertion and altitude challenges. Proper gear, sufficient hydration, and rest are critical.
Long or High-altitude Treks (7+ Days or 3,000m+):
- For these treks, we highly recommend having previous trekking experience. Participants should acclimatize properly and be ready for significant physical and mental endurance. Please adhere to the leader’s guidance on hydration and food intake.
6. Specific Rules for AJ Treksphere:
Zero Tolerance for Alcohol & Drugs: The consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs during the trek is strictly prohibited for safety and health reasons.

Adhere to Permits and Regulations: All permits required for the trek, including national park or conservation area entry, must be obtained in advance. Ensure that you carry all the necessary documentation during the trek.
Disruption or Disrespect: Any disruptive or disrespectful behavior, including non-compliance with group policies, will lead to removal from the trek with no refund.
Health & Safety Emergency: If you experience any serious health issues or injuries, we will arrange for immediate medical assistance. We ask you to stay with the group and avoid dangerous decisions.
7. COVID-19 and Other Health Protocols:
Health Screening: All trekkers must comply with health screening protocols (e.g., temperature checks) before embarking on the trek. This ensures the safety of the group.

- Cancellation by Trekker:
- Cancellations made at least 14 days before the trek: 80% refund.
- Cancellations made within 7 days before the trek: No refund.
- Cancellation by AJ Treksphere:
- If the trek is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, political unrest, etc.), a full refund will be provided or an alternative trek date may be offered.
